The photo below of an existing duplex home was once a school house. What is now called Railroad Avenue in Lower Elkridge was once called School House Lane. This is the contents of the folder labeled D.1 with information regarding this school in the EHS archives.

The photo below, also shown in the Elkridge School House article in the Elkridge Knowledge Base, was possibly taken in front of this school.

Across the street from this duplex is the Melville Cemetery, and in the corner of it closest to Railroad Avenue is an area with no gravesites. An old map of the cemetery labeled it as a School. It is probably one of the schools mentioned in the first document that was demolished around 1900. See the following link:
